GLYC Partners with Bucket Wings

The Green Lake Yacht Club is thrilled to introduce Bucket Wings as a Legacy Sponsor. This program enables local business partners to contribute at a higher level to our mission of promoting watersports and camaraderie in Green Lake.

Bucket Wings is the creation of Will Gerstein, a longtime member, sailor with the club and product of the Green Lake Sailing School. Will founded Bucket Wings last summer out of Town Square's Green Lake Kitchens program and quickly discovered Green Lake was hungry for his wings. Bucket Wings can be picked up at Town Square, enjoyed at the Town Square Tap, or delivered to the marina. They also do large orders, making the perfect finger food for your summer parties.

To recognize our partnership with Bucket Wings, this year's Portsmouth racing series will be commemorated with the award of a new perpetual trophy: The Winged Bucket. We will also be hosting several of our after-sailing events at Bucket Wings, including our Welcome Party, as the Mill Pond Terrace has proven an excellent, COVID-safe way to get together outdoors.

We wish Will and his team well in their second summer and we encourage all members to support the inspiring entrepreneurship of one of our own.

GLYC Partners with Heidel House

The Green Lake Yacht Club is proud to announce its partnership with the Heidel House for the summer of 2021!  The goal of this partnership is to make sailboat racing on Green Lake a weekly viewing event and to make the Heidel House the go-to spot for GLYC members to enjoy sailing, fine dining and refreshments.

As most of you know, the GLYC holds fleet racing every Sunday from 9:30-11:30am, but unless you are out on the lake, it can be difficult to enjoy the racing or keep track of the fleet.  This summer, the Heidel House will be the best place to enjoy the racing and what better way to do so than with a first class brunch and refreshments?  The fleet will be setting its courses for optimal viewing from the Heidel House and each table at the Heidel House's new indoor/outdoor restaurant will be set with a fleet roster and season scoring sheet.  Starting on June 20th, we encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the views, and support the Heidel House.

Over the last several months, it has been a pleasure to work with Mike White, Don Klain, Nicole Sevcik and the Heidel House's new management team towards building this relationship.  Their shared passion for a successful and sustainable Green Lake, the return of premier sailing events to our shores, and commitment to the community make them natural partners.  We wish them a successful reopening, great first summer and lasting success!
